Summer Reading 2026 arrives!
Saturday, June 13, 2 - 4 pm, ages 5 - 10

Unearth a dinosaur pal to take home when you sign up for Summer Reading 2026 on opening day. While supplies last.

All attendees receive a golden ticket that they can redeem for a summer reading necklace beginning Monday, June 22. Necklaces and beads will not be given out on opening day or before June 22.

Start recording reading in the READsquared app or on paper as soon as you register but come back beginning Monday, June 22 for your beads, necklace and raffle tickets.

Take part in our Pre-K program and are welcome to track reading/listening as well as literacy activities, but will not collect tags or raffle tickets.  Those who do track activity during this program will qualify for a book prize when they return at the end of the program.

Explore the 78 BCCLS Member Libraries this summer in search of hidden treasures!

Join the 2026 BCCLS Scavenger Hunt - a fun-filled journey to discover the BCCLS logo hidden in participating libraries.

 

Here’s how it works:

  • Pick up your scavenger hunt form at the Tenafly Library starting June 15.

  • Visit at least 3 libraries between June 15 and August 15, 2026, and find the hidden BCCLS logo.

  • Get your form stamped with each library’s property stamp as proof of your discovery!

  • Return your form to any BCCLS library by August 29, 2026.

Visit at least 3 libraries (2 in addition to the Tenafly Library) and you may win a $50 Visa Gift Card.

  • One for an adult (18+) and one for a child.

We’ll share stories about people and traditions from around the world and through history. Each week we will learn about someone or someplace new through stories and activities designed for families to do together.

The most awesome and funny Larry will be returning to the library with a bunch of his animal friends. Who will we meet this time? Come and join us as we find out.

 

Unique Creatures is both Larry's business and his passion. From Hedgehogs to snakes and birds to lizards, Larry loves them all and seeks to educate and share the wonderful creatures that he calls family with you. Every program that he hosts is a bit different and includes different animals, many of whom he has rescued.
