Keep track of books read at tenaflylibrary.readsquared.com (or use the app)

  • 1 book = 1 bead for necklace (prek-grade 5)

  • 1 book = 100 points toward a raffle ticket (1 picture book = 50 points)

  • 1 approved book review = 100 points

  • 500 points = 1 raffle ticket

  • 1 extra raffle ticket for each additional 300 points. Maximum 1 prize per participant.

 

At registration, children receive a necklace and take-home bead tracker plus a special gift donated by a local business. Readers earn colored beads by reading different book genres. Return to the library with your bead tracker to claim beads and get a new bead tracker.

Mon. to Fri. 3:30 - 5 pm & Sat. 11 am - 1 pm

Friends Art - all ages!

  • Each participant creates one or more 4" x 4" artwork. 

  • Various art processes will be explored.

  • All artwork added to the Friends Art display for all to enjoy through the end of the summer.

  • Artists welcome to bring their artwork home at the end of the summer.

TEENS, ages 11 - 18

Drop by our teen maker space in our new teen area to create your own art in your own way. Canvas and other art supplies will be made available in the teen maker space whenever the library is open.

Spoonman Jim Cruise

Jim Cruise is an inspiring musician and comedian. Audience members of all ages will be amazed at the music that Jim creates with a set of simple spoons and will laugh out loud at tales about his adventures traveling the country living his dream of creating music and entertaining people.

DJ Community Dance Party

Thursday, July 20, 6 - 8 pm

No registration required.

 

Dig out your bell bottoms, go go boots, and favorite groovy duds for our retro summer dance party.  Our talented DJ will get you up and dancing. Be sure to dress to impress in your party best because we'll have a photo shoot with the latest insta-print pictures. A great keepsake from this  far-out party!

Cupcake Wars

Gather your friends and pick your team for CUPCAKE WARS. We provide your team with cupcakes, icing, edible decorations, and basic utensils. You decorate your cupcakes to match the theme.  At the end of the night all participants vote for their favorite cupcakes in a number of categories.

Storytime

Everyone is welcome to this storytime created for neurodivergent children who need/want a sensory friendly environment. We will have a set schedule, LOTS of interactive elements, and share some of our favorite songs.

 

Musical Stories

Mr. Corbitt shares books from the realms of jazz, reggae, pop, rock, and R&B. Along with these musical stories, Mr. Corbitt shares children's songs and rhymes.

Registration required.

Bring a white cotton T-shirt or other item of clothing or tote bag. Cotton items work best with the dyes. You'll be dying outside, weather permitting, and working with fabric dye so dress appropriately.
