for adults, teens or children

Use sidewalk chalk (we will provide the chalk) to draw a book cover that represents your story. Family teams, friend teams or teams of 1 are invited to participate.

Your team will be assigned a space on the sidewalk in front of the library and a two hour time frame to illustrate a book cover that represents your story. Draw inspiration from your memories, your goals and dreams or your all-time favorite book.

You will be assigned a time and a specific location. Location assignments and time frames will be made so that you can maintain a safe distance from other teams.

All artwork will be photographed and added to the Tenafly Library Digital Archive as a remembrance of

the Summer of 2020.

While we cannot host programs inside our building, we've created a Storywalk outside our building for your to reading/walking pleasure.

  • The walk starts behind the library building. To reach this area, walk through the breezeway between Borough Hall and the Library. From the parking lot, with the library on your right, walk toward Tenafly Road.

  • Find the first page of the book. Begin reading. Walk to the next page of the book. Continue until you reach the end of the book.

  • If you see a family at a page ahead of you, wait until they move forward before you move to the next page.

  • Get points toward an entry into our grand prize drawing by completing the READsquared Storywalk Mission.

First Storywalk begins Monday, July 13. A new Storywalk will be in place every couple of weeks
